The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland

Screen Training Ireland is a part of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board. It is the national training and development resource specifically created for Ireland’s film and television industry. It was established in 1995 to provide continuing training and career development opportunities for professionals working in the screen sectors.

We work with national and internationally recognised industry professionals, both locally and internationally, to identify, design and deliver training for Irish professionals. Training programmes are offered to practitioners and companies to enhance their expertise in Film, Television, Animation and interactive screen content.

Our aim is to:

  • Develop storytelling skills (visual and narrative) across multiple genres and platforms and promote creative collaboration.
  • Develop production and technical skills enabling Irish content creators compete at the highest level internationally
  • Raise the bar of business acumen and entrepreneurship
    The Irish screen sector is part of a competitive global industry where technology is changing at an incredibly fast pace. Screen Training Ireland is an on-going training resource which is dedicated to assessing skills shortages in the industry and designing courses and opportunities for practitioners to fill those gaps.
